    Enostosis (bone island)

    Enostosis (bone island) is a benign lesion comprising a focal area with mature, compact (cortical) bone. It is regarded as a hamartomatous lesion. Histologically, compact, lamellar bone is seen that merges with the surrounding spongy bone.
