    Contrast Agents

Contrast agents ensure that an organ or blood vessel is depicted more clearly. The contrast agent is injected intravenously (usually via a vein in the crook of the elbow) and will then spread throughout the body via the blood vessels.
The query for which the CT is being performed is an important point to consider when using intravenous contrast agent. In order to conduct a good examination, the contrast agent needs to reach the organ/vessel of interest.
